Top Ten Tuesday / Childhood Reads

Top Ten Tuesday is a book blog meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week's topic is Childhood Reads. I'm older than the average age of book bloggers these days - 28 - so I may be showing my age here. Oh well! Here are may favorite childhood reads.

Dear America

The Dear America books are a historical fiction series by various authors. Each one follows a young girl during an important point in history - i.e., Civil War, Dust Bowl. I loved these books and read every one my school library's had.

Dr. Seuss

Obviously the Dr. Seuss books are on my list. Even kids today still enjoy them.

Ella Enchanted by Gail Carson Levine

I absolutely loved this book growing up - I was probably in middle school when I first read it. I also enjoyed the movie.

Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling

Because I can't make a childhood read list without HP!

Holes by Louis Sachar

I've mentioned Holes before but I'm mentioning it again because I LOVEDDDD this book (and the movie) in middle school!

Nancy Drew series by Carolyn Keene

Are you even a 90's baby if you've never read a Nancy Drew book!?

Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket

The film adaption was terrible but I devoured this series when was I younger.

Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark by Alvin Schwartz

This book got me into horror! I loveeeddd the story and illustrations, and there's a film adaption coming out that I can't wait to see!

Scooby Doo series

Who could resist a crime fighting dog?

Winnie the Pooh

I've always loved Winnie the Pooh, and it's another classic that will stand the test of time.
